    Detailed Experience

I have more than 20 years experience in the construction industry, working from a junior trade towards a senior management role

I started out at 16 years old as an apprentice bricklayer working on numerous different types of projects from small domestic to large commercial schemes. At 26 I decided to progress towards further education and enrolled at Liverpool John Moores University where I studied part time in Construction Technology to HNC level and further progressed this over 5 years to BSC (Hons) in Construction and Commercial Management  at Sheffield Hallam University.

During my time at university, I gained a position with a Tier 1 Contractor where I was trained in the commercial aspects of Quantity Survey including measurement, procurement, cost planning, commercial site management etc. I applied these skills during my time in new build and refurbishments projects in a number of different sectors including Healthcare, Education, Leisure, Retail, Office and Fit-out.

I’ve found that strong and effective communication between all parties involved in the pre-construction, and the construction process, is vital to the success of each project. Achieving this with Client engagement throughout will ensure relationships are strengthened and working as a team will keep projects pushing towards collective goals and objectives.
